Deep Valley Grouchos 135.0-Saluki YRD’s 126.5
Hardwood Heroes 145.0-Virginia Gentlemen 126.5
#1 Deep Valley Grouchos vs. #9 Hardwood Heroes
I really liked HH over the DVG’s-well, since I am the DVG GM I didn’t “like” it but you know what I mean. I just felt that the DVG’s horrendous guard play which has been in evidence for roughly 4 weeks was more than a trend, it was a thing. And, I still think it is but King (averaging just under 17 fppg when active) went for a season-high 30 in his 1st game and Kam Jones rebounded from his mini-slump with a 32. For HH, Jackson had a horrible week, averaging 11 and Denijay Harris dropped from 37 to 12 in his 2nd game. But “the Cluffer” clinched the victory. Neither a bluffer, fluffer or pufferfish be he. Cluff had just one game, and, it was vs. a team that had held him to 17 fantasy points the first time around and he simply McCluffined it for 43 fantasy points.

Some of what I said: “…While I don’t see HOS going for 180+ again, they can certainly be in the 160’s with those frontcourt bully boys running like the bulls in Pamplona. Their only weakness is at the frosh position but their other 6 starters are good enough to cover him.
What’s currently hoopening: Even with the freshman Pozzato averaging just 7.0 for the week, HOS is sitting at +170.0 in a surprising romp. Julian Reese picked a bad week to have probably the worst game of his fantasy career and without looking it up, it was probably the worst week of the season for their frosh Blake Harper, ruining an outstanding week from Clifford. But, it wouldn’t have mattered as Lendeborg, from the house of Lendeborg (not Luxembourg), locked in 34 in his one game.

Maize and Blue Bloods 189.0-Sam Jacobson Went To Class 120.5
Gator Bait 179.5-Hillbilly Maulers 150.8
#2 Maize And Blue Bloods vs. #7 Gator Bait
Gator Bait had a tremendous week and while it was a battle, once Max Brooks locked in his 33 on Thursday night, added with Braden Smith’s locked in 28, it was all over. GB has 2 games left but I don’t see them being able to make up a 20+point deficit.

The Hoop Guru 148.0-Prozac Pups 124.0
#11 Hoosiers vs. #14 The Hoop Guru
Shulga & Fleming needed to show up at their max since both only have one game and they didn’t even show as Shulga locked in 16 and Fleming just 13. Fleming had been great all season but recently started getting less shots on a guard-happy St. Joe’s team and that just killed the Hoosiers. Thus, it didn’t matter that Garcia averaged 12 for the week and that Rataj registered a minus 1 in his first game.
