It’s all over but the shouting, but since it’s not quite official, let’s take a look at what/s happened/happening before doing a championship game preview which will also make a 2nd appearance on Saturday with revisions, since I do not know the Gator Bait starting lineup right now…
Upper Bracket
#1 Gator Bait vs. #13 KC Warthogs
It was a great last gasp by the Warthogs, who deserve some props for getting juiced enough during the playoffs to get to the Final Four. The “Edey Factor,” of course, was basically the entire reason and when he ONLY averaged 24.5 vs. Gator Bait, that was all she wrote. As predicted/speculated, Gator Bait returned to form finishing up with 165.0 to outpoint the Warthogs and will face the Deep Valley Grouchos in the final.
Lower Bracket
#2 Deep Valley Grouchos vs. #14 Hardwood Heroes
Another bravura late season for Hardwood, who fell short in what was most definitely an “offensive struggle” between the two teams. Their guards, Dingle & Nolley, who had performed so well, reverted to who they have been for their fantasy careers. Hunter Tyson decided to just attempt nine shots in two games, and, unlike his form all season, Fillipowski had to overcome a minus 4 game and averaged just 9.5 for the week. DVG moves on behind a clutch performance from Myron Gardner who made up for his 3-point first game performance (only played 9 minutes for some reason) with a 28-point 2nd game, a similar effort from Johnni Broome who upped his first game 16 with a 28, and Soriano averaged 30 for the week.
