2024/25 scoring

It seems to me ,[may just be my team], that overall scoring is down this season. does anybody else think it's off this year?

do not disagree, as for weekly really that is based off games scheduled for that week and it has been a little soft in some case.  Currently only 3 teams out of 64 that are 300+ in all the leagues.

The Commish

I was recently looking back at some of the early years and one season I saw that 7 or 8 teams all averaged 300+fppg, and, there was only one team averaging less than 250. Yet, having been doing this for awhile, I would also say that I don't think it's ever been easier for players at the high major level to put up high point totals (real points not fantasy points), but maybe that is negated by all the players with good to great fantasy averages who enter the portal and don't come close to putting up numbers (real numbers not fantasy numbers) at their new schools. Plus, it appears that defense may be making a mild comeback. Not only Houston, but Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Michigan State, St. John's and a number of other schools are tough schools to go up against and there are others.

I don't know. There's definitely more to it than the above, many things go into it but I would say that while on the whole, scoring seems to be easier than ever at the DI level, it has not translated to higher fantasy scoring with one interesting exception. It does appear that at the very top, the "1 per cent" if you will, that there may be more "studs," guys putting up 25+fppg than usual (or, it seems that way), but that group of 21-24 fppg players seem to be lesser and also more erratic in terms of consistency. I was shocked to see how low the scoring is in the "guards" category for top scorers this year...
