Rules

PLAYERS

  1. Players must be enrolled at a Division I school (showing on their page).
  2. PLAYER POSITIONS:  Player positions are determined by what school website position listing as the player position the day that the player is acquired and placed on a roster.  This position remains the same for League play throughout that year’s fantasy season, regardless of any subsequent position changes done by school.  One exception, which aids the fantasy team, is if the player becomes a multiple position player.  In this case, the team owner is allowed to start the player at the original position, as well as the additional multiple position.

The purpose of this rule is so that teams can lock in positions and not have to about an in-season change to change positions of players.  The intent is for fairness and to give emphasis on the player position the day that they are acquired.

For the rare schools, that use the “Wing” and “Post” designation, they will be listed as:  “Wing” = G/F  “Post” = F/C

**If for some reason, the schools don’t designate a position, backup for positions will be determined by ESPN site.**

To help increase Center options, I will allow multiple sources, mainly due to the lack of a Center being called a Center in this new era of basketball.  Currently we use school website, but I will allow use of a different major site (ESPN/CBS/NBC/RealGM), along with magazines (Athlon/Lindy/Street & Smith/Sporting News/Blue Ribbon).  It will be up to you to send me a link, scan something to show the player is listed as a Center.  This must be on a Roster listing that they list NOT just an article, boxscore or recap.  This will be only used to add “Center” option, not for other positions.
  3. PRE-SEASON TRANSACTIONS (NCAA LEAGUE):
    • Each team will have 3 ‘free’ preseason add/drops that they can make after the draft is completed and prior to start of Week 1 of our fantasy season.
    • Add/Drop Time Period:
      • Per normal fantasy league rules, there will be a time limit for reacquiring players.
      • Once you drop a player, you may not reacquire (pickup) that player until 24-hours has passed from time it was posted online.  There is a column on transaction page to show when available for reacquire by ‘dropping’ team.
      • This is to allow all teams the opportunity to pick-up the player, if they so choose – similar to other fantasy sports waiver guidelines.
  4. SEASON TRANSACTIONS (ALL OTHER LEAGUES):
    • Each team will have 8 ‘free’ add/drops that they may use anytime after the draft is completed up to the final day of the last week of the fantasy regular season.
  5. SEASON TRANSACTIONS (NCAA LEAGUE ONLY:
    • Each team will have 4 ‘free’ mid-season add/drops that they can make ANYTIME during the regular season.
    • Transactions are allowed on a “first come, first serve” basis – not by what rank your standings are.
    • NOTE: each team only gets the 3 “free” transactions during the season – so choose wisely
    • The “redshirt” (see #5) add/drop does NOT count against your ‘free’ add/drop.
    • Add/Drop Time Period:
      • There is a time limit for reacquiring players.
      • Once you drop a player, you may not reacquire (pickup) that player until 24-hours has passed from time it was posted online.  On transaction page, a column will show when available for reacquire by ‘dropping’ team.
      • This is to allow all teams the opportunity to pick-up the player, if they so choose – similar to other fantasy sports waiver guidelines.
  6. REDSHIRT (ADD/DROP):
    • To be eligible to redshirt, or drop a player, the player must be out (either by injury or suspension) for 3 or more weeks in a row (or it has been reported that the player will miss at least 3 weeks of consecutive action) OR has been dismissed from the school.

NOTE: Redshirt or Drop for these reason do NOT count against your allowed 3 moves during the season.IF player is  redshirted, the player is ineligible for the rest of that season. After redshirting (or “dropping”)  a player, you may then bring (ADD) up a player from “JV” (add new player) to play.

    • Each team will have THREE (3) Redshirt slots. NOTE:  You CAN  keep both the redshirted and new player once the season is completed; however, you’ll need to make the choice of which player to keep in the current draft spot, then if you so choose and want to keep the 2nd player, you may, but it will cost you the highest draft available draft pick.

Helpful Hints in Regards to the use of Redshirt and/or Drop:Note: you have to drop/redshirt the injured player while they are allowed to be dropped, once the player comes back to action you cannot then drop them without it being counted against your allowed moves.

Reasons to Redshirt a Player, as opposed to simply dropping a player:If it’s an underclassman and you want to keep open the option of retaining him for next year, you could redshirt your injured/transfer player

Reasons to Drop a Player, as opposed to simply redshirt a player:
    • If the player is a senior, there really is NO reason to redshirt him, as he would not be coming back
    • Although an underclassman, you may not want to use up one of your redshirts spots for that player, as    you have no desire for them to return to your team
  7. TRADES
    • TRADE DEADLINE: There will be NO trades processed prior to your league draft until the completion of the draft.  Once draft is completed, the trade process will restart. NO trades will be allowed after final week of our fantasy REGULAR season.

    • Must be even up deals, 1-for-1, 2-for-2.  No 1 for 2 trades will be allowed for example.

    • No team can exceed the allowed roster size

    • Players/Picks traded are slotted in roster of new teams by trading highest slots (1st to 13th) with each other and on down until all players/picks traded are slotted on their respective new team.

    • Can involve future draft picks as well as current roster players

    • During the season, all trades must be completed by 24 hours prior to the end of week to go through the Trade committee process to ensure the players will be available for new teams for next week.

Must be agreed upon by both teams, with a confirmation e-mail from both parties involved sent to Commissioner.

      Example
      Team A trades a 2nd and 7th round player/pick to Team B for a 4th and 5th round player/pick.  In the trade, the 2nd and 4th round player/pick swap places, then the 7th and 5th round player/pick swap places.
  8. TRANSACTIONS
  9. Roster Requirements consist of 13 “scholarship” players:
There is NO requirement/minimums, however please note lineup requirements.

You are required to meet your weekly lineup requirements set below.

Regular Season – Lineups

  1. Each lineup will consist of a 7-man lineup consisting of the following:
    • 2-Guards
    • 2-Forwards
    • 1-Center
    • 1-Freshman
    • 1-6th Man (any position)

NOTE:  If you don’t submit your lineup to me by Saturday 11 a.m. of the week of action., the previous roster will be used.
Regular Season and Tournament – if player doesn’t play in game one, they can be replaced out within 24 hours.  This rule was instituted to help avoid the unexpected injury, schedule change, etc.  Once the player, plays in a game, even if one minute, they are locked into lineup.

Please use the SUB-DNP option when submitting lineups, so there is no confusion.

DRAFT

  1. Draft order is decided by previous years FINAL regular season results.
  2. Teams keep players who they either drafted or picked up from previous year.
  3. You will draft for the vacant spots, based off players that are still eligible, i.e. still in college.
  4. You will not draft in the round of an “active” player.

Example:  If you drafted Carmelo Anthony in the 1st round and he stayed in school, next year you wouldn’t have a 1st round selection, because he would be in the slot.
  5. Add/Drop (transaction) players replaced the draft position of the player they were picked up for.
  6. After draft is completed, you would be able to “release a player from his scholarship” and “recruit a late signee” with allotted moves allowed. This includes Redshirt Moves.  Once ‘live’ draft starts, only draft picks will be allowed.
  7. “Live” draft to be conducted in online chat room.  If not able to attend draft, it’s there obligation of the team owner to submit a detailed draft list to the commissioner and/or a contact phone number.
  8. Time limit between picks will be 3 minutes, as to not slow down the draft process, ensuring it will finish in a timely manner for all parties involved.  IF a pick is skipped, due to not being online, draft lists empty, or unavailable for contact via phone; the pick can be made up anytime during draft, as long as the player is still available.

LEAGUE PARTICIPATION

Based on:

  1. Being a good sportsman
  2. Keeping it a “friendly” competition
  3. Plain just having fun!!!
  4. Managing your team, if you’re going to use the same lineup each week, that’s fine, just make sure you’re “submitting” your lineup, not leaving it dormant.
